Until they came along with the suits that compressed the body into a tight, synthetic torture chamber that would trap all manner of sand, beach debris and bacteria in my hoo ha. I discovered board shorts in a surf shop. What freedom! Fast drying, lose fitting and easy to wash and hang to dry. The ubiquitous sports bra and tank top won the day for the rest. I bet princess di would have rocked those too!
